Our family grows fresh organic cherries across two orchards situated in a cool climate, high altitude area of Australia, renowned for its food and wine production.
 

Cantrill Organics - Australia’s largest organic cherry orchard - is owned and operated by our family here in Nashdale, near Orange in New South Wales, Australia.

Luke Cantrill is the sixth generation of Cantrill farmers in Orange district, following in the footsteps of his father, John.

Our farms are located at Nashdale in the central west of NSW - on the base of an extinct volcano. This gives us rich, fertile, basalt volcanic soils in which to grow.

The altitude and colder nights slow the ripening process of our cherries, which enables greater sugar production, and creates better flavour and a delicious real cherry taste.

We are continually updating our orchard with new varieties and have planted brand new varieties to expand our volume and production. These new varieties will come to bear from 2024 onwards. This will see our yield increase significantly.

Cantrill Organics supplies both domestically and internationally, and we have a strong focus on building future export markets.

PROVENANCE

Cantrill Organics is located in the highly fertile growing area of Nashdale, 15 km outside of Orange, NSW. It’s an area world-renowned for its exceptional cool climate wine, beef & sheep production, and exceptional fruit & vegetable produce.

The Nashdale area is approximately 4 hours west of Sydney, which gives us fast access to international freight forwarders and airlines. We have the ability to have premium fresh cherries from our farm to your market within 72 hours, a distinct competitive advantage. This ensures exceptional freshness, and extended shelf life of our produce.

Our orchards are situated on the base of Mt Canobolas, an extinct volcano, which has given our area rich volcanic, nutrient-dense, basalt soils - perfect for fresh cherry production. Our orchards sit at 870m-1000m above sea level and this high altitude, cool climate, provides a slower ripening process imparting exceptional sugar content and flavour to all our produce.
